Security for the COVID-19 vaccine is a complicated task, encompassing supply chain security, location security such as hospitals and pharmacies and more. Reports of fake and counterfeit COVID-19 vaccines being sold online have risen this week.

Hospitals and vaccination centers are ramping up their security measures as reports of thefts and potential thefts are rising. This weeks, Florida State Hospital in Chattahoochee reported two vials of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine had been stolen.

In addition, Wisconsin hospitals got a scare this week, after members of the National Guard reportedly walked into the wrong hospital asking to pick up COVID-19 vaccines.

The people left without incident, according to reports, however, it prompted hospitals statewide to be on high-alert and ensure they were utilizing the physical security solutions they have in place such as video surveillance, access cards and locks.
