Trenton-Mercer Airport in NJ conducts emergency training exercise
Trenton-Mercer Airport (TTN) in New Jersey is conducting a full-scale emergency training exercise. Per the Federal Aviation Administration's guidelines, Mercer County is required to organize a mock emergency scenario once every three years. The exercise allows the agencies that will respond to a true emergency to train together in a single venue and is designed to measure the level of preparedness of first responders.
The TTN Airport Emergency Plan involves the cooperation of the National Transportation Safety Board, the Federal Aviation Administration, the FBI, the New Jersey Division of Aeronautics, the County Office of Emergency Management and County Emergency Communications. With COVID-19 health regulations in place, many of the drills will be performed virtually.
