As more and more experts and thought leaders lament the detrimental effects of fake news on the larger population, academics at University College London (UCL) and other institutions are aiming to help social media companies, governments and enterprises take a more active role in tackling the problem.
UCL has collaborated to develop a machine learning tool that identifies new domains created to promote false information so that they can be stopped before the ‘fake news’ can be spread through social media and online channels.
