Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport is planning on adding five lanes at TSA. Often, travelers face long security lines, especially after conventions and large events.

During busy times, the airport recommends that passengers arrive to the airport three hours before their departure time. Currently, TSA only has four lanes, and after the expansion, it will have nine, says a news report.

According to the deputy general manager of the airport, Greg Richardson, the airport wants to expand the South security checkpoint within the next year and plans to expedite the process. Fortunately, for travelers who use this busy airport, all existing lanes will stay open during the expansion.

Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport is the busiest airport in the world and is spending money to modernize and improve the travel experience for those who use the facility. In addition to expanding the South security checkpoint, the airport is spending an estimated $450 million to modernize the terminal. The airport also has plans to spend money on renovating gate areas as well as other improvement projects, says the report.
