Bulletproof Vests and Security Officers Approved for House Members
House lawmakers can now use taxpayer funds to buy bulletproof vests and other security equipment to protect themselves, under a resolution that was approved by the House Administration Committee.
The resolution also allows House members to hire security personnel such as security officerse for events such as town halls, to guard their district offices during business hours, and to accompany them on official business.
