'Gabby's Law for Student Safety' Now in Effect Across Florida
A new law, "Gabby's Law for Student Safety", will hold a school district responsible if a child has a dangerous walk to school.
The new law redefines hazardous walking conditions, so if a child is walking along a road, it's considered hazardous if there is an uncontrolled crossing site on a road with a speed limit of 50 mph, or if there are six lanes or more, no matter the speed limit.
