Security Firm Offers Schools Free Trained Security Dogs in Grant Program
A San Antonio dog training firm is providing trained dogs free of charge to help improve safety in local school districts, according to KENS 5.
After a string of security scares at San Antonio schools, including the arrest of a student with three loaded guns at Madison High School, Jesse Stanley, a manager at Universal K9 is providing trained security dogs, which usually cost between $8,000 and $10,000 to school districts at no cost, as part of a grant program. The only charge would be for the time of the officer working with the animal, which are often former shelter dogs.
