Even Sweden’s famous Ice Hotel is not exempt from fire regulations – this year’s installation of the hotel, built from scratch annually from snow and giant blocks of ice in the arctic town of Jukkasjarvi, included fire alarms and a built-in sprinkler system.
Sweden’s National Housing Board ordered the luxury ice hotel to install alarms to ensure the safety of guests – they weren’t concerned about the igloo-style building itself burning, but the reindeer skins, mattresses and pillows were a concern, Fox News reports.
