Officials Call Off Overhaul of Statue of Liberty Visitor Screening
Plans to change security screening procedures for visitors to the Statue of Liberty have been called off due to concerns over the possibility of terrorism.
According to CBS News and The Associated Press, plans to screen visitors once they arrive at Liberty and Ellis Islands have been scrapped, ending a political back-and-forth between the Department of the Interior and law enforcement.
