TSA to Remove Controversial Body Scanners from Airports
The Transportation Security Administration has announced that it will remove the controversial “naked image” body scanners from U.S. airports because developers can’t write software to make the images less revealing, according to an article from Gizmodo.
The scanners, made by OSI Systems Inc, have caused all manner of controversy and ruffled feathers since they were first introduced. The TSA was looking to OSI to redesign the software to make the scans less intrusive, but the company failed to meet a congressional deadline to finish the job, the article reports.
