Security Magazine Editorial

Much of the success of our magazine comes from articles that are contributed by our readers. If you are interested in writing an article, please review the information below to help you understand our requirements.

Editorial Calendar

Each year we publish an editorial calendar that lists the topics we will address in each issue. To see the latest editorial calendar, click here. For questions, please contact Diane Ritchey, Editor at 630-220-8771 or email to ritcheyd@bnpmedia.com.

Submitting Articles

Q: I want to write an article. What do I do?

A: We are always looking for security professionals who want to contribute to the Security magazine. Please send a short outline or summary of the subject you wish to address along with a short bio that indicates your experience or expertise in the subject. Send this information to ritcheyd@bnpmedia.com.

Q: I work for a security product or service provider. May I submit an article?

A: We accept articles written by security vendors for our biweekly Security enewsletter, as long as they are vendor neutral and do not endorse or discuss a product or service. They must focus on an industry issue. For examples of previous Security enewsletter articles, please click  here to subscribe.

Q: What about photos, charts or graphs?

A: Please send any appropriate photos, charts or graphs with your articles. Please ensure that they are 300 dpi, 4 inches by 6 inches, and 1200 x 1800 pixels.

Q: How long are your feature and Security enewsletter articles?

A: Our feature articles run about 1,500 to 2,500 words. Our enewsletter articles run about 750 words.

Q. What are your deadlines?

A. All feature articles must be submitted by the 20thof each month, two months preceding publication. For example, April 20 for the June issue, May 20 for the July issue, and so forth. Please email to ritcheyd@bnpmedia.com for enewsletter deadlines.
