HID, Irvine, Calif., has created a new position to proactively address the use of RFID and associated privacy concerns in both government and private industry. The company named Kathleen Carroll as director, government relations. Carroll will report directly to COO Steve Wagner. She will primarily oversee the company’s RFID privacy initiatives, developing educational materials to help legislators gain a better understanding of RFID technology, its benefits and inherent security features.
