The International Foundation for Protection Officers (IFPO), Naples, Fla., is launching the latest in a series of distance-learning products tailored for today's security practitioner. The Professional Development Series is a growing selection of interactive training courses available via Internet and CD-ROM delivery. Currently, topics include Closed Circuit Television, Legal Aspects, Special Event Security and Fundamentals of Executive Protection. For security providers in Florida and California, IFPO offers specialized courses in the law of those states. Other states will be added in coming months. Since 1988, the non-profit International Foundation for Protection Officers has provided training and certification programs for security officers and supervisors. The Professional Development Series fills a niche for cost-effective security training. Courses average between $19.95 and $49.95. A certificate of completion is available from the Foundation.
