Australia will spend an additional $173 million over four years introducing full- body scanners and tightening airport security.
Passengers in Australia leaving on international flights will be subject to the additional scans by early 2011. Measures include bottle screeners capable of detecting liquid-based explosives and a 50 percent increase in the number of sniffer dogs.
