Los Angeles police arrested a man wielding a knife after a standoff for about an hour on the court ahead of an NBA game between the Los Angeles Clippers and Cleveland Cavaliers.
The incident began on Saturday after the man was noticed walking onto the court with the knife. More than two dozen arena security guards surrounded the man until police arrived, with early arriving spectators being kept out of the arena.
The man walked to the visitors seating area and stood there talking with three police officers who were pointing guns at him from about 20 feet away.
When the man made a move toward a tunnel leading off the court, police tackled him, then led him out of the arena in handcuffs. The court was reopened for players about 20 minutes later.
It was uncertain how the man was able to enter the arena or reach the playing area.
